Our Team.
We strive to create a world where everyone affected by mental health and substance abuse struggles feels supported, informed, and connected

Laura Fredrickson
Founder & President
I founded this nonprofit after witnessing firsthand the challenges my son faced in accessing essential support services. He is my inspiration and the reason I am committed to helping individuals with mental health challenges navigate the complex application process for Minnesota-based programs, as well as obtain temporary financial assistance while they wait for services.
I bring more than 20 years of experience in the financial field and over eight years of advocacy and hands-on support for individuals with mental health disabilities. My mission is to provide meaningful, compassionate assistance to as many people as possible, ensuring they receive the resources they need to move forward with stability and hope.

Dr. Jennifer Fletcher
Secretary
Dr. Jenny Fletcher has more than 25 years of experience in special education and is deeply committed to supporting children and their families—particularly those navigating mental health, chemical health, and learning challenges.
Her dedication to this work is shaped not only by her professional expertise but also by her own lived experience with mental health challenges, as well as close personal exposure to the impacts of anxiety, depression, and trauma within her family. These experiences provide her with a deep sense of empathy and a practical understanding of the complexities many families face.
Dr. Fletcher’s doctoral research explored the impact of trauma on childhood development, a topic she has studied for years and continues to integrate into her practice. This trauma-informed lens guides her efforts to ensure that each person receives individualized, compassionate support that fosters healing and growth.
A champion for underserved and vulnerable populations, Dr. Fletcher is committed to building inclusive, supportive educational environments where all children—regardless of their circumstances—can succeed. She collaborates with educators, families, and community partners to deepen understanding of the complex needs of learners and to strengthen systems of care that empower every child and family she serves.

Jesse Fredrickson
Treasurer & Vice President
Jesse Fredrickson brings over 22 years of experience working with the Department of War in a variety of roles focused on employee advocacy, support, and organizational leadership. As a union steward, Jesse provided comprehensive representation to employees, including research, guidance, and assistance throughout the grievance process. He is also certified in Suicide Intervention, enabling him to recognize individuals in crisis and equip peers with the tools and training necessary to offer meaningful support.
With more than two decades of leadership experience, Jesse has developed a deep commitment to mental health advocacy. For the past eight years, he has devoted himself to helping his son navigate the complex system of mental health care for a severe health disorder. This personal journey has given him firsthand insight into the challenges families face when seeking services and support.
Inspired by his son, Jesse’s goal in serving on this board is to help as many individuals and families as possible who encounter similar struggles every day.
